Location: Watertown, MA
Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 11:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Shift: Midday
Pay Rate: $19
Signal of New England is looking for a Patrol Security Officer to join our team. The Security Officer is responsible for protecting the client and assigned property from any criminal activity or trespassing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol museum galleries and exhibition spaces on foot, including multiple stairwells
- Monitor for suspicious activity and report safety hazards or collection maintenance concerns
- Restrict unauthorized access to staff areas and engage professionally with museum visitors
- Maintain a visible presence to ensure the safety of guests and the security of artifacts
- Conduct routine checks of common areas, hallways, and climate-controlled gallery spaces
- Respond to visitor inquiries, gallery disturbances, and emergency situations
- Write clear, detailed daily activity and incident reports regarding gallery conditions
- Ensure all museum access points and restricted collections areas remain secure
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior museum, gallery, or cultural institution security experience is a plus
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and climb stairs regularly
- Strong observational, communication, and de-escalation skills
- Professional and confident when enforcing museum policies and "no-touch" rules
- Experience in hospitality, public-facing, or high-value asset security is helpful
- Local candidates strongly encouraged to apply
