Position Summary
The Lagoon Security Supervisor is responsible for leading security operations at a lagoon-style recreational facility. This role ensures the protection of guests, staff, and assets while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and resort-quality experience. The supervisor balances strong leadership, water-safety awareness, emergency response capability, and customer-service excellence in a high-traffic aquatic environment.
Supervisors must remain calm under pressure, make rapid and defensible decisions, and support a culture of safety, professionalism, and hospitality.
Position Details
Location: Wesley Chapel, FL / San Antonio, FL
Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per Hour
Schedule:
- Full-time positions available
- Afternoon & Evening shifts
- Weekend and holiday availability required.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise, coach, and support security personnel, including assigning posts, monitoring performance, and addressing issues professionally
- Train and mentor security staff on SOPs, guest-service standards, water-safety procedures, and emergency protocols
- Enforce accountability and discipline through proper documentation and consistent policy application
- Conduct shift briefings and ensure clear, professional radio and in-person communication
- Motivate teams to remain alert, courteous, and professional during long, high-heat, and high-volume shift
Safety, Emergency, and Risk Management
- Assists in responses to aquatic and non-aquatic emergencies, including:
- Drownings and near-drownings
- Medical incidents and heat-related illness
- Lost children and vulnerable guests
- Severe weather and lightning closures
- Facility evacuations and lockdowns
- Coordinate with lifeguards, EMS, fire rescue, and law enforcement
- Support incident command during major emergencies
- Monitor water-access points, swim zones, docks, cabanas, and restricted areas
- Identify and mitigate hazards such as:
- Slippery surfaces
- Poor visibility
- Equipment malfunctions
- Unauthorized watercraft or flotation devices
- Alcohol-related safety risks
- Maintain compliance with local health, safety, and aquatic regulations
Guest Service and Conflict Resolution
- Deliver high-level guest service with a calm, friendly, and professional demeanor
- De-escalate disputes involving guests, staff, alcohol use, or facility rules
- Address behavioral issues without disrupting the resort atmosphere whenever possible
- Oversee lost-and-found and missing-child procedures
- Demonstrate cultural awareness when serving diverse and international guests
- Maintain strong knowledge of lagoon layout, amenities, swim zones, cabanas, food and beverage areas, and back-of-house operations
- Protect and promote the lagoon’s brand, image, and guest experience
Facility Security and Access Control

- Monitor entrances, wristband systems, passes, and guest access points
- Assists and supervises bag checks for prohibited items
- Prevent unauthorized access to mechanical rooms, filtration systems, docks, and staff-only zones
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams regarding safety concerns

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass a background check in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening (where permitted by law).
- Must hold a valid Florida Class D Security License (required prior to employment).
- Must own a smartphone for clocking in, reporting, and communication.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must have the physical endurance to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods outside in high heat conditions.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certification (required or obtainable)
Preferred but Not Required: Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is a plus.
