Position Summary

The Fleet Assistant is an entry level role that plays a critical part in keeping Signal of Tampa Bay’s fleet mission-ready and operating at peak performance. This position combines mechanical skill, organizational ability, and logistical coordination to ensure vehicles are safe, efficient, and compliant across all sites. From transporting vehicles for wraps and lighting installs to performing hands-on maintenance and inspections, this role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.

Position Details

Location: 10500 University Center Drive, Suite 140, Tampa, FL 33612
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations & Transportation

  • Coordinate the movement of vehicles for licensing, wrap installations, lighting upgrades, and repairs.
  • Ensure timely delivery and pickup from vendors and service partners.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform light-to-moderate vehicle maintenance including tire changes, door switch and mirror replacements, body part swaps, and Raven camera installations/troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs.

Site & Property Support

  • Conduct regular visits to offsite locations to assess fleet and golf cart conditions.
  • Perform on-site maintenance, including tire and battery changes as needed.

Parts & Supply Management

  • Pick up parts, tools, and supplies required for fleet operations.
  • Maintain organization and accountability for all equipment and materials.

Operational Support

  • Assist management, including the CEO and executive team, with additional fleet-related projects and directives.

  • Mechanically Skilled – Comfortable performing hands-on vehicle maintenance.
  • Organized & Reliable – Keeps track of multiple moving parts without missing deadlines.
  • Professional & Team-Oriented – Works well under direction and maintains composure under pressure.
  • Safety-Focused – Adheres to operational and environmental safety standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 years of tire tech or vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Skills: Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical: Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with clean driving and attendance record; reliable transportation required.
  • Compliance: Must complete required training within the first month. Employment contingent on background check and drug screen.
