Position Details
📍 Location: in Sarasota, FL (assigned during onboarding).
💰 Pay Range: ROVING PATROL $17.00-$17.50
🕒 Schedule:
- Full-time positions are available with a set schedule.
- Weekend availability required.
- Afternoon & overnight shifts (assigned based on site needs).
Roving Patrol Officer — Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrol and Surveillance
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned properties, facilities, or multiple client sites by vehicle or on foot.
- Monitor for signs of trespassing, vandalism, theft, safety hazards, or suspicious activity.
- Ensure all access points (doors, gates, windows) are secure and locked as required.
- Check for unauthorized vehicles or personnel on the premises.
- Provide visible deterrence through consistent and professional presence.
Incident Detection and Response
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergency calls.
- Investigate incidents and determine appropriate actions based on company policies and client requirements.
- Provide immediate assistance in situations involving accidents, injuries, fire, or criminal activity.
- Notify law enforcement, emergency services, or on-site management when necessary.
- Remain on-scene until relieved or instructed by supervisory personnel.
Reporting and Documentation
- Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports accurately and on time.
- Record patrol times, findings, and actions taken using company reporting systems or mobile applications.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle mileage, fuel usage, and patrol coverage.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security deficiencies to management or clients.
Client and Public Relations
- Interact courteously and professionally with clients, employees, visitors, and members of the public.
- Provide assistance such as directions, safety escorts, or customer service as requested.
- Represent the security company and client with professionalism, integrity, and respect.
- Communicate effectively with property management and other officers to coordinate coverage and response.
Safety and Emergency Procedures
- Remain alert to potential hazards (fires, leaks, electrical issues, unsafe conditions) and take corrective action or report them immediately.
- Assist in implementing and enforcing emergency evacuation or lockdown procedures when required.
- Administer basic first aid or CPR when trained and necessary.
- Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment.
Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance
- Operate patrol vehicles safely and within company and state regulations.
- Inspect patrol vehicle daily for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
- Ensure communication devices (radios, phones, GPS) and other issued equipment are functional and properly used.
- Report vehicle or equipment defects promptly for maintenance or replacement.
Compliance and Professional Conduct
- Adhere to company policies, client post orders, and all state licensing or certification requirements.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance in uniform at all times.
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion in all interactions and decisions.
- Protect confidential information and property assets of clients and the company.
- Attend required training sessions, safety meetings, and performance evaluations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide support to stationary guards or other patrol officers when backup is needed.
- Monitor surveillance systems or security cameras as directed.
- Perform site inspections to verify officer attendance and adherence to post procedures.
- Document and report on site conditions, lighting issues, and perimeter integrity.
- Adapt to schedule changes or reassignments as required by management or client needs.
