Location: Houma / Raceland / Morgan City, LA
Post Type: Outpatient healthcare facilities with moderate to high public interaction
Schedule: Weekdays, 8:00am-4:30pm (Occasional late stays may be required based on clinic operations)
Pay: $15.00/hr (base), plus earned performance bonuses
Role Overview
Class C officers are experienced professionals who can operate autonomously in environments requiring emotional intelligence, discretion, and steady judgment.
This assignment supports outpatient behavioral health clinics, where officers must maintain a calm, respectful presence, interact appropriately with patients and staff, and de-escalate situations before they escalate—often without drawing attention.
This role is designed for officers who take feedback seriously, communicate clearly, and understand that how you say something matters as much as what you do.
Who This Role Is For
- Experienced security, military, or law enforcement professionals who value structure and standards
- Officers with a calm, steady temperament and strong interpersonal awareness
- Candidates comfortable working in healthcare or clinical environments

- Team-oriented officers who accept feedback, document accurately, and adjust quickly
- Hospital, clinical, or healthcare security experience is preferred but not required
Who This Role Is NOT For
- Easily excitable, reactive, or confrontational personalities
- Officers who rely on authority, intimidation, or volume to manage situations
- Applicants who resist supervision, coaching, or documentation requirements
- Inconsistent attendance or limited availability disguised as 'flexibility'
Responsibilities
- Provide patrol and/or static security per post orders with a calm, professional presence
- Engage patients, visitors, and staff respectfully; de-escalate verbally and early
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times
- Complete accurate electronic reports every shift; documenting who/what/when/where/how
- Identify behavioral patterns or risks and communicate observations to supervisors
- Support and model standards for junior officers when assigned
Standards & Expectations
- Reliable attendance and punctuality. You are expected to be early and prepared
- Professional appearance, fitness, and demeanor at all times; presence must be reassuring, not intimidating
- Consistent, quality report writing; reports must be detailed, factual, and timely
- Emotional control under pressure; de-escalation is the default response
- Strict adherence to post orders and immediate communication of deviations
Minimum Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older; high school diploma or GED
- Able to pass background check and drug screening
- Reliable transportation
- Meets at least one experience requirement:
- 2+ years military -OR-
- 2+ years police -OR-
- 5+ years security; -OR-
- 1+ year with Signal with documented performance (punctuality, report quality, public relations, temper control, teamwork, issue resolution)
- Willing and able to comply with HIPAA and client confidentiality requirements
- Complete additional classroom training (advanced communication/process/leadership/reading body language) as assigned
- Able to perform required duties with or without reasonable accommodation (standing/walking/patrol up to 45 minutes at a time; lift up to 50 lbs)
- Security experience is REQUIRED for this classification (NO EXPERIENCE RESULTS IN AUTOMATIC DENIAL)
Advancement & Career Path
Signal of Baton Rouge operates a proprietary Officer Advancement Plan with measurable standards and quarterly performance evaluations.
Officers are evaluated continually and rewarded quarterly based on objective performance metrics (attendance, reporting quality, engagement, teamwork/leadership).
Performance Tiers are earned (not promised): Basic, Effective, Efficient, Senior. Earned bonuses add to base pay as you meet standards and time-in-role milestones.
Team lead assignments may include an additional hourly premium when assigned.
Class C is the primary growth track for officers building toward Class B. Advancement requires documented performance and completion of additional training.
