Title: Armed Security Officer
Position Summary:
The Armed Security Officer at Signal serves as a critical protector against fire, theft, vandalism, and other security threats. Equipped with concealed weapons and dressed in a soft uniform, this role involves patrolling facilities, guarding entrances, and maintaining vigilant observation of surroundings. Key duties include engaging with clients and associates, responding promptly to emergencies, and complying with site-specific post orders. This role directly supports Signal’s commitment to safety and community service.
Position Details:
Location: Anchorage, AK, USA
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, either 7:30 am - 4:30 pm or 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Salary: $66,000 - $73,000 per year (Full-Time) with hourly rates for part-time, based on experience and alignment with company values
Responsibilities:
- Provide health security measures including infection prevention controls and screenings.
- Escort staff and official vehicles as required.
- Deliver security services that reflect company core values and adhere to site-specific post orders.
- Accurately document shift activities and incidents using company reporting technology.
- Maintain professional interaction with internal and external personnel, escalating critical information to supervisors.
- Care for and manage assigned company equipment such as phones, access keys/cards, and devices.
- Meet daily operational benchmarks including reporting accuracy, service quality, and site policy compliance.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors via daily briefings to ensure smooth operational performance.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years’ experience in State or Municipal Law Enforcement preferred; waivers considered for Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, or applicable military service.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Ability to obtain an Alaska Armed Guard License.
- Completion of SPI training modules within the first month.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to follow established procedures, work effectively under stress, and maintain professionalism.
- Physical capability to carry up to 20 pounds and stand or patrol on foot for extended periods (4–10 hours).
- Capacity to wear the Signal guard uniform in a professional manner.
